Retro furniture in Budapest

Deep in the industrial zone of the 9th district of Budapest, there is a warehouse with design gems. This is Möbelkunst, the collection of retro furniture mostly from 50-60-70's and more.

It is of course not an alternative to your ordinary furniture store. Firstly, because these are design pieces, and secondly because they are expensive. A chair (and not in best condition) costing 35000 forints (120 eur) is normal here.

However, Möbelkunst can be a good option if you are looking for props for your photo shoot.

The warehouse is open every Sunday between 10-16 at IX. Budapest, Földváry u. 4, and for more details go to Möbelkunst website.

The warehouse is two big rooms full of furniture and accessories.
There you find both single pieces...
and batches
On offer are interior design and industrial pieces.
Many things are with the history, the designer and year of creation are indicated on the price tag.
Some period pieces from 'man-caves' of 60s.
When you enter the yard, go to that door to the left, and then to the first floor.
