On March 6-16, 2009 the Hungarian National Museum (VIII. Múzeum körút 14-16) displays a collection of recently acquired photographs by famous Hungarian-born photographer Robert Capa.
After two years of negotiations with International Center of Photography in New York the Hungarian state purchased 985 Robert Capa’s photographs.
On display in the Hungarian National Museum are about forty photographs from different periods of Capa’s career as a photo-journalist, including those taken during Spanish Civil War, World War II, and 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
This exhibition with free entrance also includes Capa’s famous photos of Henri Matisse and Ingrid Bergman, and slide shows with his many other works.
