This shop/gallery with a very contemporary feel next to the Budapest Central Market was created by the group of designers and craftsmen involved in creative recycling.
Their main material is advertising banners, and as you can imagine there is no shortage of those in the era of consumerism. And for their furniture and interior objects they use other recycled and recyclable materials too, including wood and even concrete.
Having started in 2006, today Medence designers offer in their shop bags of all shapes and sizes, and furniture pieces — all of them unique, one of a kind creations, that are both environmentally friendly and good looking. Banner bags retail at prices between 2 000 and 23 000 forints (10-80 Euro).
You can also participate in the creative process and make a bag yourself. Now and then, Medence Group conducts workshop where you can stitch a bag from pre-cut pieces or even cut the shape yourself.
