Kálvin tér (Calvin Square) named after French Protestant Reformer John Calvin is located in Budapest downtown IX. district.

What used to be fields, vineyards and grazing land outside the old city walls is today a converging point of five major streets, including Museum Boulevard and Ráday street, station on the M3 (blue) line of the Budapest Metro, and square with Calvinist Church, hotel Mercure Korona and glass business center.

Múzeum Cukrászda

Though it is a confectionery, most people come here not for sweets, but for beer and chat, and find it a very good thing that they are open round the clock round the year, yes, even on Christmas. It is located not far from the university, and you’ll always find here many students. This “bar-confectionery” also has summer terrace.

Fecske Presszó

Fecske is an arty café/bar which we consider a good alternative to posh restaurants and low-life drinking holes as it is somewhere in the middle between both. Here you can have good food at reasonable prices (we recommend duck breast with rice and seeds) or enjoy booze night with your buddies in homely atmosphere. They have music programs on some weekends.

Café Alibi

Café located next to the Law University. They offer about 10 types of breakfast menu till noon, and breakfast all day long, weekly specials, and good milkshakes made of fresh fruit. Cafe ALibi is also known for their home-made pies. Food is quite simple, but prices are reasonable too. Quite big non-smoking zone and young crowd. Note that service is included in the bill.
