A prison interior and waiters wearing striped overalls. Jazz and Prohibition style parties.

Café Chagall

Budapest. Café Chagall

Elegant bar and café with huge Chagall-ish mural on the building's façade. Not very extensive menu with simple dishes, but prices are reasonable, taking into account it is located in the downtown, just behind State Opera. Big non-smoking zone.

Soul Café

Minimalistic and pleasant interior with low light. International cuisine with Mediterranean touches. Big summer terrace. Service is a bit slow.

IX. Ráday utca 11-13

Henry J. Bean's Bar&Grill

American style bar with Tex-Mex cuisine, sport events on big TV screens and live jazz, blues, and country, on Thursdays to Saturdays evenings.

V. Szt. István krt. 13

Trattoria Toscana

Classic Italian cuisine in quite ordinary interior. Everything is average here, except the waiters and prices: staff show attitude and hint at tips shamelessly, while prices are high with such kind of service.

V. Belgrág rakpart, 13-15

Bambuszliget

Small restaurant on the Danube embankment that offers sushi, rolls, sashimi, tenpura, authentic plum wine and sake. On the ground floor there is a sushi bar, and traditionally furnished tatami room is on the first floor. 6 rolls are about 1200 HUF. The restaurant also delivers sushi to some districts.
