Trolleybuses

Budapest. Public Transport. Trolleybus

13 trolleybus routes were added to Budapest public transport system after World War II. The launch took place on Stalin's 70th birthday, and that is why every route number starts with “7”. Today, you still may see the rather old and rusty "made in USSR" trolleybuses, but they are gradually being replaced with modern vehicles.

TICKETS

Tickets are purchased in advance and validated in the electronic or hand punchers on board. Tickets are available at newsstands, some tobacco shops, ticket offices in metro stations and BKV vending machines.
